Using Hy-Tek's Team Manager Lite
Here
are directions on how to download, use, and export meet
entries using Hy-Tek's Team Manager Lite.
If you already have the program downloaded and installed
on your computer, please proceed to step 10.
1. Download Hy-Tek's Team Manager Lite (the demo
version of its full program) at
http://www.hy-tekltd.com/downloads.html#tfdemo
2. Click on the link (Team Manager Lite) to start the
download.
3. Choose to "Save" the download to your computer.
4. Choose the location on your computer where you wish
to save the file to.
5. When the download is complete, go to the location
where you saved the download and double click on the
icon "TF_TEAM_MANAGER_Lite." This will start the
"Setup" program.
6. At the "Welcome" screen, click "Next"
7. On the "License Agreement" screen, click "Yes"
8. Next, choose the destination (location where the
program will be installed). The default should be in
the "Program Files" folder on your C-drive. This is the
best place to put it, so just click "Next"
9. This will start this installation process. When it
is done, click "Finish." There should now be a maroon
icon on your desktop that is titled "TM Lite." From now
on, to open the program, simply double-click the icon.
10. Download the meet file,
tfmm2005-10-29-MeetEvents-BCPS XC Championships
2005-001(found on the website). Be sure to remember
where the meet file is located, also DO NOT unzip the
file, leave it as is.
11. When the program opens, click "OK" on the pop-up
only for first time users).
12. Choose "File" on the menu bar (at the top).
13. Select "Open/New"
14. In the "File Name" box, name the database you are
creating (i.e. Pikesville) and click "Open.".
15. A "System Preferences" window appears. Choose the
following preferences:
a. Gender Descriptions - Boys/Girls (B/G)
b. Default Country - USA; Default State - MD
c. Age Groupings - Open
**all other field should be left alone, then click
"OK"
16. Choose "File" on the menu bar, then select "Import,"
then "Meet Events."
17. Go to the folder where the meet file you downloaded
earleir (tfmm2005-10-29-MeetEvents-BCPS XC Championships
2005-001), choose the meet file, and click "OK." Click
"OK" on the next window, and then select the file,
tfmm2005-10-29-MeetEvents-BCPS XC Championships 2005,
and click "Open." Click "OK" and the next two windows,
this returns you to the main screen.
18. Choose "Team" on the menu bar.
19. In the window that opens, choose "add" on the menu
bar.
20. Fill in all the required data fields. The team code
is the 4-letter abbreviation for your school name. When
you are finished filling in the fields, click "OK."
Then click "Cancel" and the team you added will appear
in the window.
21. Return back to the main menu by click the "back"
icon (little folder with an arrow, last icon at top).
22. Choose "Athletes" on the menu bar.
21. In the Athletes window, choose "Add" from the menu
bar.
22. Add all you athletes one at a time. You only need
to enter their first and last names, gender, team, and
school year.
23. When you are finished adding all of your athletes,
click cancel to exit. Click on the "back" icon to
return to the main menu.
24. Choose "Meets" from the menu bar.
25. The only meet in there should be "2005 Baltimore
County XC Championships." With that meet highlighted in
blue, choose "Entries" from the menu bar and select,
"Entries by Event"
26. Highlight the desired event (JV [JV], Varsity [V],
or Open [O] as indicated in the division column). To
put a particular athlete(s) in the selected event, check
the entered box to the right of the athletes. Do this
for all desired entrants for a particular race and then
move to the next event and enter athletes in that
event.
27. When you have finished entering athletes in all of
the events, click the back icon twice to return to the
main screen.
28. From the main menu, choose "File" on the menu bar,
then "Export" then "Meet Entries"
29. Choose the meet in which you wish to export entries
for (2005 Baltimore County XC Championships) Next choose
the location, just use the default, and then click "OK."
30. To export you entries email Ed Faya (efaya@bcps.org)
and myself (efilosa@bcps.org)
the entry file you created. To do this simply attach
the file to an email. Go to the folder, C/TFTMwinData,
and select the entries file (for example,
ABCD-Entries001) Your file will have your schools
4-letter code.
31. When I import your entries into the program, I will
reply to your original message with an report of entries
you submitted, so you can double check so that there are
no errors or omissions.
